Pump Types:’

There are a variety of pump types which include submersible and hand pumps.

Submersible pumps reside inside the well and at the bottom. Putting the pumps inside the wells is the most efficient location as it allows the water to cool the motor, reduces friction and allows water to be pumped from deeper in the ground. The other benefits are that they are self-lubricating using water, don’t require an enclosure like a pump house and they are very quiet at the surface. Submersible pumps are extremely reliable as long as they are used within their specifications.

These specifications include power requirements and flow rate or gallons per minute (gpm)

Cross Well and Pump also sells and services hand pumps made by Bison and these pumps require no electricity at all. Bison offers a variety of hand pumps and they are precision engineered to be very easy to pump and extremely reliable. Bison pumps will pump water from as deep as 300 feet and they are self priming. Just pump and there’s water!
